Our story

An independent store for families

Toolhaus is a small, independently operated online store. No warehouse chain, no algorithm picking the shelves — just products we've looked at and believe are worth your time.

Our mission

Toolhaus was started by someone who believes strong families begin with learning together. Reading has always been a personal passion — especially the kind of books that help parents, children, and whole families build better relationships, pick up new skills, and enjoy time spent with each other.

That's the whole idea behind the store. We're based in the United States and we sell online only. The shop is run by a small team, and when you email or call, you're talking to the people who actually choose the products.

Who runs Toolhaus

Toolhaus is not a marketplace or a drop-shipping front. It is owned and operated by an independent retailer working with a small support team — the same people who choose the titles, pack the orders, and answer the phone at +1 (317) 602-8586 and support@toolhaus.shop. There is no call centre in between: if you write to us, one of us reads it.

We launched Toolhaus in 2026, and we still review the shelf by hand every time a new item is considered.

Why family, education, and psychology books

The catalog is deliberately narrow because it reflects what we actually read. Books on parenting, child development, learning, and the psychology behind how families communicate are the ones we know well enough to judge — we can explain why a title is on the shelf, who it is for, and when a different book would serve you better. Anything outside that expertise, we simply don't stock.

We source, we don't publish

We don't write or print our own books. We buy titles from established publishers, distributors, and reputable wholesale suppliers, and we resell them here. We have no exclusive publishing deals and we don't claim any. Every book is chosen because we think it offers real value to a family — quality matters more to us than quantity, so the catalog is deliberately curated instead of listing thousands of random titles.

How we choose our books

  • We buy our books from established publishers, distributors, and reputable wholesale suppliers. We are not a publisher and we do not print our own titles.
  • Every title is read about, checked, and reviewed by us before it is added to the catalog.
  • We focus on parenting, family, education, and personal development books.
  • We only list books that fit the Toolhaus mission. If a book doesn't help a family learn, connect, or live better together, we leave it out.
  • We review new releases regularly and keep improving the collection. Titles that no longer fit are retired.

What we carry

Every book we list falls into one of our focused shelves:

How we work

We ship books across the United States with free standard shipping and a straightforward 14-calendar-day return policy — returns travel by mail with a free prepaid label included in every package. Orders are processed Monday–Friday within 1–3 business days and arrive within 3–8 business days total. Our shipping, return, and privacy terms are written in plain English — if anything in them is unclear, tell us and we'll fix the wording.
